This week in literacy we are learning...
* Handwriting - Re-visitng any letters we have struggled with, especially k, f, p, g, r and z.
* Grammar - Dictionary skills - learning about alphabetical order and how to use a dictionary.
* Blend - 'um'.
* Writing - Reports, writing about our visit to Healesville Sanctuary.

* Money - learning about dollars and cents.

* Australian Animals - birds

This week in literacy we are learning about...
* Handwriting - the letter Yy (it is from the U family and it is formed downwards).
* Blend - 'ug'.
* Grammar - Similes (A simile is a group of words that compare one thing to another e.g. 'as light as a feather').
This week in maths we are assessing the children in preparation for reports.
This week in integrated we are learning about...
Don't forget your Australian Animal project is due Wednesday 9th November!
* Placental Mammals (they give birth to live young and have no pouch).

* Grammar - Conjunctions (joining words, such as, and, but, then, so, or).
* Writing - Recount writing
* Reading - focusing on comprehension (asking children questions about the books they are reading to check for understanding).

* Before and after numbers
* Place value
